ES7000 vs ES8000 panel

Post by vanisz »

Hi there,

Samsung says that the ES7000 has a micro dimming and es8000 pro ultimate micro dimming and this is a case of the panel.

Last days my friends check the 46es8000 and he have the 46A2UF0E panel, i check mine and it is 46A2UF1E, so it seems to be the same exept production date (part).

That meens the twice more backlight in es8000 panel is misunderstanding - because es7000 have the same panel... - for sure it seems to panel gives a micro dimming - not a mainboard...

I just wondering... if the panels are the same... is this a posibility to change es7000 to es8000 (in svc menu You can choose a model that You have) from Service menu to have a micro dimming ultimate.

Does anyone have knowledge of this topic?

Regards!

Good question, I went to a training session with Samsung directly, and was told the ES7000/8000 are the same hardware, just like the D series the year before, only the software is different, meaning that enabling the ultimate dimming should be possible I think? 8-)

As to how you could do that? I have no clue! LOL

Here is my 46es7000 changed into ES8000 - by changing model in Service menu.

Image

Everything is working, in online firmware upgrade tv get the upgrade.

TV behaves as 46es8000.

After change to es9000 there is small problem with camera and mic - in es9000 when You want to use camera you have to push it on the top of tv - and es7000 don't recognize that cam is already turned on. - You get a info about turning on the cammera.

I encourage you to try this.

Hi,

I unlock it by service remote controler (infrared remote control aplication under nokia e51 with Samsung service tv template)
- after this i unlock advanced options and was able to change MODEL under OPTION menu.

It's hard to say that i have or have not ultra dimming ultimate......there isnt any info that can tell me that ....and i havn't other es7000 in my room to refer it to.
As i told before... panels seems to be the same:
46A2UF1E in my es70000, and when You will google this panel , you will find that some users have this panel in their 8000.
- Please give me a clue with the way how to check that ultra dimming is enabled...

There is also interesting feature about headphone jack under advanced menu called headophone ...

After i change it i was also able to change headphone jack option to send LINE OUT AUDIO - this function is very useful to me - it gives independent from internal speakers, line out audio (when jack is plugged in You can listen tv both on build speakers and on aplituner connected through jack) from any source connected to tv, and also from smart tv applications. Before this ..... when i pluged jack tv turning into headphone mode and disable internal speakers.

Many thanks for this useful information... especially for this LINE AUDIO OUT thing :-)

Mine seems to be almost the same.. Only for an 40"

Panel: 40A2UF1E (found also ES8000 with this panel)
Basic Model: UES7000
SVC Model: 7000

So you did change only the Basic Model value? Or the SVC Model? Or both?

Regarding Mirco Dimming Ultra: This is very interesting - Samsung Presetaion were the Guy explains MDU - But it could be that it only works with an BD?!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKa6R8MMQ0g

Seems to be that Micro Dimming is not an changeable option in our TVs (anymore) - Some Useres of HiFI-Forum Reportet that in Standard Picture Mode MD is working at its best....
Sorry in German - But probably you can use Google-Translator: http://www.hifi-forum.de/viewthread-151-18102.html
