I have the impression the safety measures are not up to date and that they don't match the procedure described in Recovery of Bricked Device. Can anyone confirm and/or update the corresponding sections?

I see nothing wrong with them...
Recovery of bricked device section only show how you could recover if boot partition is broken...Instead of root partition...
That page could be delete-able too...
You can edit and fix what is wrong for you
