In the Samsung SMART TV you have only access to DLNA compatible devices.
No way to access SMB unless you root the TV set (with all the associated risks) and also in this case I'm not sure it is possible yet.
I have the same issue because my NAS is very old and not DLNA compliant.
Also I do not like DLNA at all... :(

Hi,

yes it does have access to dlna, but with dlna I can only scroll mkv files and not mpg ps files.

How is the process to root E-series? -- The samsung firmware for my tv is named T-MST10PDEUC_1032.0.exe

hi All!

TV model: ES5500/T-MST10PDEUC-1029
i've rooted my tv, my question is, anybody compiled nfs module for this model? (nfs.ko,lockd.ko,nfs_acl.ko,sunrpc.ko) and maybe g_file_storage.ko :)

thx

Right today i talked to guy who is trying to make widget for rooting mst10pdeuc easier as possible. AFAIK no physical usb is needed, further one of goals is to have nfs and samba working. I let you know when info arrive. Perhaps next week.

I too am very interested in this topic.

I just bought my TV today after reading these forums.

I have UA32ES6200M with
T-MST10PDEUC-1030.0 firmware.

My issue is I have a DTV box called a Dreambox which is Linux based and has Samba shares setup. I'm using this as my NAS and cannot setup DNLA on it.

Look forwards to hearing good news when it comes.

"further one of goals is to have nfs and samba working"
That would be so great!

@Hoffy: take a look at minidlna, which also runs on dreamboxes. OK: NFS (or samba) is much more comfortable.

Thanks for that riodoro. I'll look into that.

haven't been able to find any DLNA that works with my image, but I've not heard of that one.

Cheers.

So... don't know what crazy black magic happened but I now have smb mounts working8-)

I did nothing but let it load for 10+ min (each time) which sucked but after no problems!

hi damnoodle!

Can you step-by-step how to smb mount on Smart E series! I have many mkv on nas but allshare can't handle mkv. Now i copy to usb to play mkv file.

Thanks!
