Extract Plex App v1.0.0 from F-Series Model

Hello everybody!

This is my first post in this really great forum. I'm a german native speaker, so please excuse me for spelling mistakes.

I really need the plex app v1.0.0 for my D-Series-TV. Unfortunately, it has only been released for F-Series models yet, but it also should work with small bugs for older models, as this thread says: http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/top ... ere/page-2

In the Samsung app store there is currently only v0.9.x available for older models.

So my question is: Is someone out there with an F-Series model who can install the Plex App v1.0.0 from the Samsung app store on his TV and then extract it somehow and provide it here, so that I can install it manually on my D-Series model?

Thanks in advance, I really would appreciate your help!

Good idea but the problem will be to get it from the F Tv. As far as i know the Fs are not rooted yet and no FTP is possible...

So first we have to find a way to get it out of the F .

A question is also if someone has access to the other versions. Many interesting features. A pitty that al failed samsung Tests.

I don't know if this is possible, but perhaps we can somehow send a fake user agent HTTP header to the Samsung app store to identify ourselves as an F-Series TV and download the app manually. Any ideas if this or any similar solutions may be possible?

I just noticed in the above mentioned thread that the developers of the Plex App submitted a new version to Samsung. Maybe this version will pass all tests and will be available on older models, too.

Hopefully. Those changes are sounding very promissing.

This is really a pity!!! Plex is the most stunning app in my opinion...

Lets keep a eye on the method to get the app out of an F-Series model. Hopefully it will be possible to root/ftp those in future.

But I cannot believe that the Plex guys will quit the development because of samsung's hard app policies. I think the guy is only a bit frustrated at the moment (which is understandable!).

I just tried to capture the network traffic between my TV and the Samsung TV App Store when downloading an app. But the connection seems to be SSL-encrypted, the only unencrypted HTTP-Requests I noticed where some ad-images being downloaded.
I also inspected the Smart Hub app on my TV via FTP to find some URLs of the Samsung store, but the source code is encrypted JavaScript.

Any other ideas?

Actually it was just that a new testing team tested this latest version and messed it all up. There were actually only 2 minor bugs that were real. Hopefully it will be released soon

But unprofessional to be posting that frustration in an online manner.
