Bricked my UE40B7090

Post by DrySteve »

Hi,
I tried to make Telnet and Remote LAN Control autoloader.
Because there is no current ready to use script and config to do this I tried to do it following the examples linked in Wiki and in this forum too.

After flashing the TV's light still flash five times and then the light is on. But the TV itself stays black  .

I read something about the workarounds and u-boot, also about the ExLink Interface here.
Unceremoniously I bought a PICAXE AXE027 cable (PICAXE-Programing Cable USB to Serial).

Now, I tried to follow the instructions and launch the console. But it doesn't work.
Pages of scattered characters occur.

I cannot start the Service Menu
[MENU][MUTE][POWER]. The RC isn't working longer. I cannot switch the TV. Only Power off via disconnect the power line.

Before I begun, I set the RS232 to Debug and the other changes recommended in the manual here.

What can I do to recover my TV? I have no trust in me to make the EEPROM hardware reset, powered on open TV.

I live 50 km from Munich and I read here another User in Munich.
Maybe the cable is wrong wired?

Any ideas?

need boot log. Make correct cable first. build plain com (pc side) - exlink stereo jack(tv side) cable, three wires without any addition schematic inside. Look this article.http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Enable ... 2B_Devices

Hi juuso,
I cannot make a current cable, therefore I bought one.

In cable thread
1. B series doesn`t need cable with built in ttl converter
2. miched chars can be because of wrong connection settings
3. you can`t break all and get to console, because your:
a) console is locked
b) firmware is restricted and here is not possible to unlock console, need to downgrade firmware first
c) tv is ci+, no possible to send ctrl +c , shell input is limited
d) all other reasons, first of all - non working cable, bad pinout and so on.
2. I had the right connection settings - shown here in example for putty
3. a) after flashing T-CHU7DEUC 3000.G maybe the console is locked again...
b) was done T-CHU7DEUC 3000.G with FFB 0.8
c) tv is ci and not ci+
d) yes, I guess

I cannot ship the bootlog without support and the right cable. :x

you can`t repair tv without access to u-boot.

eeprom reset won`t help here.

don`t panic!

you could take cable picture and go to any electronic repair service, i`m sure you`ll find someone who makes cable in 10 min for you.
Maybe your friends have some skills in soldering, ask them. Generaly, cable is so simple as simple to solder tree wires to conector at one side and also three contacts to stereo jack on other side. So basically you could do this by yourself.

What do you think why you can`t do cable? no soldering before? can`t read circuit diagramm? we can help you remotelly in every question.
I don`t think shipping cable makes less time than you probably build it locally.

1. ~1 meter 3-wires cable (you can use ehternet cable if you want for this, or old audio cable or usb cable or any other...)
2. 3.5 stereo jack (DYI from electronic parts or from old unused headphones/speakers. cut it but not to much, you need to join wires)
3. com port (DB-9) male adapter. You can find it on electronic shop or you can use one from old devices (old modems or so have used those cables).

use pins of DB-9
2
3
5
and connect to pins of stereo jack pins
1
2
3
like is shown on picture http://wiki.samygo.tv/images/e/e5/Exlink.gif
this is direct connection, no wiring or schematics inside.

Thanks for this, but I have panic over the last five days.
I bought a wrong soldering Iron, one with gas and it dosn't hold the temperature.
I'm A.D.D. and I'm hypofokused in software engineering, but cannot do any kind of hardware.
So I must buy a new Television.
Are you interested in the old one?
It's to give away for free, if you pick it up at my home.

Sorry for my panic.
It's sometimes difficult for other.
For me it is normal part of my life.

Tomorrow I'll drive to my brother and he can help me making the cable.

Hi juuso.
The cable is ready.
We checked the cable four times and it's ok.

Now I'm at home and there is no output within putty on powering on TV.
Connection parameters are how wiki shows.

Nothing apeers.
Any idea?
