UE32D5500 Bricked

Post by Rogerthat »

Hello,
Im new here, but I've been reading this forum since a month or so.

I was in the service menu trying to enable the PVR but instead I've just messed up my UE32D5500. Now I can't unbricked it.
Could someone please help me to identify the Eeprom in my main board, and telling me which pins I should join to unbrick it?

Here I attached a few pictures of the main board, the first is just to see the full main board, but in the next you can see the ICs I suspect can be too:

I must say that I already try to unbrick it with the ATMLH110 (second link), but after a few tries, nothing happend, so I decided to came here and ask.

Any help will be more than welcome.

Thanks a lot in advance,
Roger.

1) IC901 (2nd picture): main SoC EEPROM
2) IC1203 (last picture): submicom (Weltrend chip) EEPROM
3) HDMI EDID EEPROMs (picture 4 & 5)
4) IC410 (3rd picture): no idea - unless it's close to VGA input (if any), in that case, it's most probably VGA EDID EEPROM

Personally (just a guess - no guaranties / no responsibility) I'd try 1) IC901 first - if I understand correctly, you already tried to short that one, but perhaps you did something not quite right? Try again - make sure you are shorting the right pins, and in the right moment!

2) IC1203 may be worth a try, too.

EU*D5500 is Mstar 5 based (T-MST5* firmware) - I can't find any EEPROM reset procedure already documented / EEPROM reset success report anywhere for this particular model, so you are in uncharted waters. There is always a possibility EEPROM reinit/reset functions are simply not implemented in T-MST5* firmware branches; in that case, you may need to manually reprogram IC901 or IC1203 (or both) with values extracted from another, working TV (exactly the same model & version) to unbrick your TV.

Also, it's not awfully clear what excatly you messed in factory menu - there are some options in there (e.g, triggering micom upgrade) which are utterly destructive from any practical perspective. In such case, your only (reasonable) option may be mainboard replacement.
