after SmartHub Update No Root

Hello,
I had rooted my TV via USB last month.
TV:
SpoilerShow

Code: Select all

Model: UE46ES7090
Firmware: T-ECPDUC-2009.2 BT-S/G
SmartHub: 4.606-5.0
After a SmartHub update yesterday root was gone (skype is working again).

Following things I tried:
  • Installing samyGo widget in developer mode gets a Security Warning.
And the Widget is Not installed.

Hack via USB fails to Install "Install Widget".

Hack with Test Apllett installs Widget test 2 and mounts USB, but running the Browser twice doesn't Install the hack.
Has anyone else seen this behavior?
I will keep on trying, any hints would be appreciated.

Sometimes it happens to loose root on smarthub updates...
If you can't root again, you may have to restart from scratch (reset smarthub, reinstall Skype, reinstall SamyGo from USB)
If you still can't get it to work, luckily your TV is downgradable and you could try to revert to an older firmware that maybe will more easily accept SamyGo and avoid future smarthub updates, have a look at:

Thanks again for the advice. :D

How do you stop smarthub updates on ES8000 ?
I have checked in the TV options but no way.

Hello guy,

I did the same but it did not work to me.
When in 2003 the USB widget is not loaded and via develop I again get the security issue.
Possibly it is because smarthub updated immediately as soon as 0000 was loaded ?
How can I avoid it... it is a mess.

The widget of this topic is visible from USB viewtopic.php?f=40&t=7969 (and also this viewtopic.php?f=63&t=7982).
I'm wondering if I can modify the run.sh of the widget to copy the InstallSamygo folder in /mtd_rwcommon/widgets/user/

The command might be:

Code: Select all

cp /dtv/usb/sda1/InstallSamygo /mtd_rwcommon/widgets/user/
After that I'm confident that the installSamygo will still do his rooting work...

It's better to compare config.xml of both hacks :) Change one not working to be similar to the one working. You might even try just copying config.xml file :)
