Decompiling APK to work on Smart TV

Hello everyone. This will be my first post in the forum. If its in the wrong section can a mod please move it.
I basically want Showbox or Moviebox on our Tv's.
Ive been reading alot and I know that our tv's are based on the Linux debian distro and think it would be cool for us to figure out a way to get one of those apps running. I monitored my Iphone's traffic and it appears that the application sends a string to a server and in return gets a .zip file with the respected names of the files. all we would have to do is mimic its request behind a nice gui that could scrape its database and get a list of the links to the .mp4 files. I believe its possible to extract the source code out of either the .apk or .ipa and then compile it for our tv systems.
Anyone else wants to brainstorm with me?
