Hello,
We have Samsung UE40C6715US LED TV at home and I am thinking about buying a Synology NAS. DS213j or DS414j now... primary for backp, but it has also DLNA server inside, then question is: will it works with our TV?
Our TV can play almost all conteiner video formats with srt subtitles...
Will be this possible with the NAS too?? I would like to not use the USB anymore.
Does somebody has this (or similar LED TV) with one of above NASs?
Thank you.

I have a C650 and I've been using it with a 411j until about a month or two ago. They worked perfectly.
Now I actually have some issues with the 414j, but I don't know the reason. I don't think it's the 414j.

if you have the NAS you should give it a try and root your tv in order to mount the nas directly via nfs
this way your tv will treat it as if it was a usb thumbdrive directly connected, media compatibility is better thiy way compared to dlna

Finally I bought my new NAS - Synlogy DS414j...
But I cannot watch anything on the TV (Samsung UE40C67xx).
Port forwarding is allowed:

but TV did not find NAS
Any idea why? Thank you.
Edit: I found
Plex TV, but there is no server version for Synology yet

Restart DS when TV was runnig... nothing
Now I am trying to undestand of
How to get root access on a C series TV
but I dont fully understand how to do it...
After sometime I was finally format my old 256MB flash drive with ext3...
Downloaed C-HACK.7z, extracted TodayModifiedWidget.7z, extracted widgetlist.xml from it to the c:\xampp\htdocs\ ... so it is awailable on the localhost web.
But that next step: Setup
On your TV:
Go to Internet@TV and create a new user called "develop"
Log in with that user, choose settings => on the left there is now a menu item "development"
Type your computer's IP address as the server IP address
I created the "develop" user, but there is no field !menu item "development"!...
edit: I have only, add Service provided / change password / remove user
edit 2: as per this
DLNA Test Certificate my TV (UE40C6715) is cirtified.
So, why it doesnt work?

And couple screens of TV:
List of sources... no NAS visible, only my W7 PC (that DLNA) even when I dont run any DLNA server on it
TV Settings... there is not "development" menu visible:
On your TV:
Go to Internet@TV and create a new user called "develop"
Log in with that user, choose settings => on the left there is now a menu item "development"
Type your computer's IP address as the server IP address
This is how the "Account ID for Internet@TV looks like:
Properties:
TV FW version:
Yesterday I did small step ahead
I am able to play Video on TV from the "Video Station", but it has two BIG BUTs

I have to login to the NAS with standard (not mobile version on the cell phone) web browser and start "Video Station" and start playing movie... problem with this is that that web browser has to be ON whole time when movie is playing... which means PC has to be running or mobile (at least display can be switched off).
2nd BUT is that it is horrible horrible slow on the mobile, almost not suitable for use... so only PC is OK to use, which is wanted to avoid by buying NAS

don't forget to log in the develop account you created (in Internet@TV start screen press red (A) )
but depending on your firmware version the widget hack will not work. but you could give it a try, if it fails try "manual hotel mode hack"
you could also try the other way around and restart tv while dlna (upnp) server is running
