UN40ES6800 bootloop problem, then SUBMICOM then dead

Guys,
I had a problem on my Samsung UN40ES6800, one day after 2 years working fine, the tv started to boot itself', only seconds on and reboot. Sometimes the tv doesn't even reach to turn on screen. I went to a repair service and as usual, they told me: it's the main board, we have tested the PSU and it's ok. Repair cost is half of a new TV, so I started to do some experiments.

After some days of surfing the service menu, of course without reading this forum, I've hit SUBMICOM and you know the rest.

I wanted to be clear, the TV had a problem which I haven't identified probably on the mainboard, and now I assume I've deleted EEPROM.

My question is, is there any known way to restore the firmware to the EEPROM again? It worth the effort knowing that the main board could have a problem?

I'm attaching some pics of what I've captured before screwing it up, hope it's useful.

Thanks!!

When only EEPROM is erased, TV normally asks for essential default values, and there's no problem in getting it back to work.
But "submicom upgrade" puts TV in an irreversible brick state, at least nobody here knows how to revert it (search forum for "submicom", and you'll be aware). I assume only Samsung knows :)
So you have now no other choice left except mainboard replacement. If possible try to find spare part and replace it by yourself, it will surely cost you much less than let it do by repair service.

Thanks! I was afraid that this may happen, the guys from Samsung should rename the SUBMICOM function to: "don't touch" or "switch tv to a very expensive paperweight" :) I will follow your advice and try to get a main board.

Let's say that I found one with the same code but coming from another TV model, the process to make it work for me is just to select the right model in service menu?

Thanks again!

Just keep in mind that if not the exact model, it has to come from a *very* similar model for all other components to be compatible, then you might have to change some values in service menu (maybe panel type...), but that's not easy to say if it will be really needed. If it works well with new mainboard default values, don't change anything :)

I'm on my way to found a main board as replacement, I've found some BN41-01812A but I'm seeing that the boards that are offered has two part numbers on them, the BN41 and another one: BN94-06559Q.

The board on my TV doesn't have any BN94 code so how to be sure which code it is?

Thanks!
