Is it possible to root my UE48H8000 (I know size doesn't matter... when talking about these firmwares!) with firmware T-GFPDEUC-1180.4?

It took me a bit but I was able to disable OTA and OTN updates (thanks to my Logitech Harmony 300). I have been trying several days to root it with no luck following viewtopic.php?f=70&t=8469, but no luck yet... Has anyone been able to do so?

Thanks for your time!

Thank you VERY MUCH for the answer!

Ok, I'll try to mess a bit, as I see it is not a good media player for network(smb) files(I had to ise upnp), subtitles and so on.
Raspberry is WAY better on this, so I'll stick to it

I cross my fingers for rooting H8xxx's because I can imagine that running Raspberry Pi is not a preferable solution just to have smb and subtitles.

I had model B8xxx and that time it was nice rootable box :-)
However due to problems with rooting H8xxx models I recently changed to H5500 and I am really happy with this choice.

+1, I completely agree with you!
I think it's Samsungs duty to develop (or open their systems) to allow the features I mentioned. Rasperry Pi 2 is out, and for 35?(using Openelec or Raspbmc) you get such an amazing mediaplayer, that in a 1200? TV you MUST include it all!

I really appreciate your posts
