TV reports no internet connection however...

Hi,
my TV was working flawlessly until yesterday. It is UE50ES5500 and I am running iptv client on it, for two years now.
TV reports LAN connectivity only but not internet. However from it's browser app I am able to surf ???????
I have done every troubleshooting method that I could find on internet
changing DNS, factory reset, flashing firmware, checking cables and router config., updating firmware, and lastly installing samyGO from usb,
and still the same.
I am able to browse from TV browser app, but initiation of any other app that requires internet connection,
ends with the popup for checking connectivity. Again I am able to open DLNA content in LAN.
TV is connected with the CAT5 patch cable to the router. Internet connectivity is there and I am able to see the channels from my pc attached to the same router with the same iptv client.
I have just lost 8 hours going around as headless chicken.
Could someone assist please.
