CEC conflict

I'm trying to get CEC working with my raspberry pi running Kodi. I have got it to work ok when I disconnect my cable set top box and plug out TV for a few mins but as soon as I reconnect the STB, Anynet+ can lo longer connect to the device despite being able to see it... Any ideas how I can solve this conflict?
