SMB + 1080p + Wifi = Stutter

Hi,

Managed to read files from a SMB share via wifi, but unfortunately 1080p files are not buffering fast enough.

720p files are just ok, and I can stream the same 1080p files to other devices (pi, cellphone) from the same source, so it leads me to believe that the problem is the TV streaming buffer.

Unfortunately I cannot get an ethernet cable on the tv.

Is there a way to increase the stream/smb buffer on the TV?

I actually tried it, and it's one of the reasons I belive it's a buffer size issue and not just bandwidth, because no matter how many seconds paused (10s, 30s, 60s, 120s) I still get the same ammount of playable seconds without stutter (7-8 seconds).

Than put two n or ac routers across living room and connect one of the routers to TV :)

It's possible tv doesn't buffer enough and it doesn't matter how much you change samba buffer because it tries to buffer ONLY 7-8 seconds. I don't remember where but I have seen similar behavior and it was because of TV and NOT samba.
