UN40C5000 , enable playback from network share, Samba ?

Post by alpher » Mon Jul 28, 2014 1:23 am

Hi , have above mentioned TV and I'm using it to play movies through DLNA server on my network.
It works quite well but DLNA server slows down my NAT considerably.
So I'd like to avoid it if possible.
Is there a way to install some kind of "Samba" on this TV so it will see the network shares?
Really appreciate your help.

i assme your firmware is T-TDT5DEUC?
then you could use root as described in wiki and mount your nas to a virtual usb via samba, i'd recommend nfs preferably
//UE40C6500 @ T-VALDEUC 3011 // rooted manual HotelMode style // PVR to NFS via 18MB on-the-fly sparse XFS //
FYI: you can close your ssh session with SamyGO with

Code: Select all

~.
If you can't fix it using dvct tape, you are not using enough dvct tape.
