How to properly flash firmware?

Post by yoco »

Hy guys! I have LE40B652 TV and my firmware is T-CHLCIPDEUC-2007.1. Now what I'd like to ask you guys is if you could just point me into the right direction for flashing this firmware.
Now I've read this guide
http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php?title=F ... 2B_devices

and I think I pretty much understand it, but when I see this one it gets complicated
http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php?title=S ... re_Patcher

Now the problem is when I come to "Enable Telnet or Advanced Mode". How should I know which one to choose?
The only reason I want to flash the firmware is because of subtitles. I truly hate the default one, and I'd much prefer the yellow color or any other for that matter, just so I can actually read them.
I hope someone can understand me, and be able to give me a little hand!

You don't needed to read "pyton works" section.

You don't needed to enable Advanced mode or Telnet for have big subtitles. But If I were you, I choose enable Telnet...
You can also use Subtitle application for make your subtitle bigger & yellow without changing firmware. But you needed to run that program from content lirary when you are gonna watch movie..

Thnx a lot! And I just copy this?
And when I'm at it, about Audio Stream Switcher, can I do the same?
Is there any danger of bricking the TV?

Yes, you can do the same with most of samygo applications :)
If you do not play with patched firmware, after TV-off all games you have execute manualy - so no chance brick TV. But if you play with FTP or FFBv0.2, you can accidentaly delete some files, you can get bricked TV. So do what you know you re doing and vice verse.

Same place as ColorFont. With yellow button on RC-> copy to TV memory.

Can I both copy under "Children" category? I'm asking cuz that's where I copied when I reverted my firmware back!
