UN46D6500VFXZC rebooting every few minutes

Hello. I am new to this forum. I have had this TV sitting in my closet for some time now. It was given to me as a TV that had issues and was already replaced. I have been looking at a replacement board on and off for about a year or so now. Now I stumbled on to this forum I am wondering if there may be a way to fix this TV's software. I am convinced that this is not a hardware issue, but rather a firmware / software issue.

The TV is a UN46D6500VFXZC. Made in 2011. It will boot and come on to a picture just fine. It only stays on for a minute or two, then reboots it's self.

Is there any way of putting new firmware on this TV, or are there any other options for get this thing going? I am familiar with tv repair, as well as Electronics repair, Firmware flashing, Jtaging etc, Just need to know where to start for a TV of this type. Or if anyone has suggestions...
