Has anyone explored the media database? I use the SamyGO extensions to mount shares to my USB drive. And, I use another box to record TV to those shares. Over time, I've recorded at lot of files, and many of those I've deleted. As far as I know, there's no way to remove the files from the database in the TV.
The database is in the files Ace.dat and Ace.log in the directory /mtd_contents/database/. So, I moved that directory to the USB memory, and made a soft link to it. The icons are in /mtd_rwcommon/V7, so I moved that directory to the USB drive and created a softlink to it as well. I've found that other directories are created in /mtd_rwcommon when other USB devices are inserted.
Does anyone know what kind of database this is, and how entries could be removed from it for files that no longer exist. Alternately, is there a way to rescan the files in the shares without opening them all. As it stands now, the only sort method that works is the simplle folder view, since all of the other ones are overwhelmed with icons from deleted files.

Re: Media database
It looks like the firmware didn't like /mtd_contents/database being a softlink. After a day, it looks like it reformatted the mtd_contents partition, and put in a new database. The soft link in mtd_rwcommon seems to be ok, so at least the icons can be in the external memory. Since the icons are what's taking up the bulk of the memory, it's good to be able to move them.
