Samsung BD-D6900 (rooted, Serial port:ok,TDM:ok)

Post by geo650 »

Based on descriptions of accessing BD-C6900 (http://forum.samygo.tv/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1688) I was trying to get into new BD-Player - Samsung BD-D6900. Unfortunately, without success.
I have no idea what CPU and OS is hidden inside D6900. I don't know if enabling telnet for this device is possible. Just wanted to try.

What worked?
- setting develop account in SmartHub (new name for Internet@TV)
- downloading and installing hacked widget from private webserver
- executing hacked widget

What went wrong?

- please see attached picture:

BD player was unable to see ext3 pendrive. Also, ext2 partition wasn't read. I tried FAT and XFS filesystems, but finished with this error message above.
That's everything for now.

BTW, firmware used in this model is called B-FIRURDEUC.

My next idea is to edit news.js file of that modified widget to check if it can see device's filesystem at all. Anybody knows how to list directory or files using pluginObjectFile (or other object) ? Maybe it will be possible to list root directory?

D6900 could be very different from C6900. May be it is like D series of TVs. Check their forum here and ask about your problem. May be someone will help you.

Regards.

In fact, D6900 is a bit different. It has no ex-link (or rather, I don't know where it is). I made some photos of internals (top PCB layer) and found some chips (Samsung SA57970A13 / *NOT* ARM CPU?, Realtek ethernet controller, EEPROM chip - 24512RP, a few smaler ICs, empty pads...)

I read C- and D-series TV models' forums but cannot find a solution how to see D6900's guts. ;)

Most likely, you are right. I've been suggested by "ARM" letters printed on that IC. I couldn't find anything on Google. :D Only this page contains that chip:
http://soc.dongguk.ac.kr/alumni.htm
so I think it is something for blu-ray control.

I don't know what is under that heatsink (probably specialized/or regular CPU) - and there is a flash memory chip also visible but it is not contacted with heatsink's surface.

Thanx!

I can not see the GND. Is it the pin behind rx and tx?
Which one of those pictures is right:
Image
or

I can upload the photo to sourceforge...
Might it is time to fill-up the bluray wiki page?
i gave you write permissions.

Edit: Ok, both are right, i understood :)
