You make confusing yourself. There is no coding or any other play with firmware. No xor as well.
I do jot know which manual youre following. I said once - that way is quick and easy. I thought you make procedure from step 2. But no, it seems you mixing manuals and get confusing instead of doing the easiest way.
Right, here are many manuals for your TV. One of them says you have edit rootfs and boot partition, the second is a shortened version and a bit simplified. The third, written by me, based on already patched firmware and TV software upgrade procedure. All required files are attached.
I suggest you do not speeding with the hacking of your TV, but decide wich howto you follow - all manuals are tested many times and ok for your model, but in different difficulty levels.
Do it easy. Holyday time, don't expect get suppport in seconds after you write some questions.
