In theory you can run applications via Firmware upgrade. But since we have Telnet access to devices via Firmware Upgrade, Its not needed.
You don't afraid to brick your TV. Script is safe for the use. And even if you brick your TV, you can revive after.
You can also brick your TV via executing such an external program too...

Than use SamyGO Firmware Patcher to Modify your firmware (T-CHL5DEUC 2008.0 is compatible). And FLASH your device. This will enable your telnet.
Or you have service port (3.5mm jack for ExLink cable), isn't it? You can access console of your TV.
(This all possible if your device is CI, CI+ B6000 devices are not supported for now..)
