bug/feature in media players behavior to handle files on local storage media -> not sure somebody is willing to digging into players code...

I don't think it's the media player, I can navigate any depth on my DLNA server using media player and the builtin DLNA source. With samygo upnp share, only 5 or 6 levels deep (and very slow).

So, folder browsing limitation exists for samba, nfs and upnp (dlna) shares.
Any idea from the dev team ? Do you want us to do some specific testing ?

1. test:
make a 1:1 copy of your shared folder to usb-hd and try to access the files from direct attached usb-hd on tv.
1.1 once without to start the SamyGO widget.
1.2 second time start SamyGO widget too but access the files on hd not on virtual usb.
make always reboot of tv betw. tests!
results -> 1.1 ?, 1.2 ?

2. test:
attach usb-hd with content to tv, start SamyGO widget and make a symbolic-link from usb-hd into virtual-usb
then try to access your files over virtual usb folder from media player
result -> 2 ?

for symlink the command is something like:

ln -s /dtv/usb/<your_real_hd> /dtv/usb/<virtual-usb>/MyTestLink

then you should see under virtual usb a directory MyTestLink whit same content as your real usb-hd....

DLNA client don't access folders, it gets some xml files from dlna server with the information about the structure and filelist, then it requests a file (via some item number and not via location) then the server streams the file at some weblocation (server can also transcode the content into a format what the client can display or explicit requested...)

that is effect that we need to take as it is...
as the SmartHub try to load index.html.... maybee blank index.html solve the issue
