SO,

The technician came today armed with a new main board and wifi module. As predicted however, the customer support chap hadnt properly described the problem. I showed the test images to the Tech chap who was genuinely surprised and said he hadnt been aware of it before before completely agreeing that is was NOT Full HD 3D. He rang his supervisor who apprently then rang Samsung. Samsung basically said if the TV offered working 3D, regardless of resolution, then the TV is in working order and the matter was closed. Outrageous. The technician said there was nothing he could do but advised me to dig my heels in and kick up a fuss. So i rang customer support again and got through to a chap based in Egypt who didnt uderstand me before finally getting put through to an Irish fella. He came at me all guns blazing stating that 'Full HD 3D' does not mean 3D in full high definiton but rather should be interpreted(!!) as 'Full HD with 3D' and that as the TV offers Full HD 2D and 3D capabilities that Samsung had done nothing wrong and that in HIS opinion the terminology was sound and said there was nothing he could/would do for me. I argued that in that case they should bloody well describe it on the box as 'Full HD with 3D' or better yet 'Full HD 3D ready' and mentioned trades description act etc. Anyway after about 10 minutes of ridiculous debate about terminology (in which he was so obviously wrong and he knew it) it was obvious the chap was a brick wall and I was never going to get anything from him.

Shame on Samsung, i've sent a letter to the ombudsman

Thats disgraceful, what about all the sales guff on the Samsung website quote :-
"There are two ways of displaying 3D images on a TV - active and passive. Traditionally, the passive 3D method uses glasses with red and blue lenses. While these produce 3D images, they also produce a ghosting effect, and not always a true colour reproduction of the original colours on the screen.

The problem is that the hardware is just not up to it in the 6 series The 7 and 8 series have faster processing, therefore any firmware "fix" will be compromised for the 6 series.
