LExxB650 and Samba ghost files

Post by dasilverpaladin »

Hi @ll,

i have a little problem with my sambashares on my TV.
It seems that my TV is remembering some old videofiles/folders witch i already have deleted,
they are shown as items and/or folders in the media men?, even with thumbnail.

I found something like a cache database on /mtd_contents/ but i dont know if its safe to delete the things in there.

To test this behavior you should try to browse your media not only by Basic view, witch seems to be ok, but also sortet by creation date etc.

Hope someone has an answer :)

So, no one else has the same issue?

Could some one just confirm its safe to delete the database things?

I advice that save the Channel list, than make Factory Reset.

Here for everyone who is gonna encounter the same problem,
i deleted all nested files and folders in /mtd_contents/.

Nothing bad happend, TV seem to rebuild the database.
Only thing i noticed when switching to date sorting,
it takes some time, maybe its because of the huge amount of files^^

Deleting nested files and folders in /mtd_contents/ is safe :)

A similar issue has been reported from users of "conventional" USB drives, possibly caused by not using the "Remove safely" option in Media Play-Settings. Would "Remove Safely" effectively unmount the Samba shares?

Remove safely was the first thing i tried but it did not work for me.

The TV seems to save an cache for every Device plugged in in different folders.
Don`t know after witch criteria it goes, but maybe it gets sometimes confused
by device name.

imagine 2 usb flash drives with the same name but different contents.
