It maybe worthwhile drawing this to the attention of other potential purchaser of 3D TV's on Samsung's Facebook site in case Samsung decide to change the specification of any of the new forthcoming models with a similar result.Gadget54 wrote:I've been on the phone to Samsung this afternoon who say that there is nothing they are prepared to do because the TV works to specification. When I pointed out the HD problem there was a pause while they went to consult, but came back saying that they were entitled to change the specification any time they liked and that their equipent therefore didn't have to conform to their promotional material. The full HD 3D logo on the box is also apparrently an irrelevance. They also said that I would have to pursue any miselling by claiming against the retailer. I've since spoken to the retailer and he is completely unaware of the 3D problem. He wants to see the engineers report which of course I haven't got. Needless to say this isn't going to be the end of the story as I feel cheated enough to pursue this to the bitter end.

The German consumer protection board, the VZBV, finally decided to file an action against Samsung:ColdFever wrote:Today I had another phone call with the national German consumer protection board, the VZBV. I contacted them in October about this issue, and this is the current situation:
- The VZBV issued a cease-and-desist order to Samsung regarding misleading advertising.
- Samsung removed the "Full HD 3D" advertising for the concerned devices and changed advertising drastically. Samsung informed retailers about the new advertising in November. However, Samsung did not sign the cease-and-desist order.

Because Samsung did not sign the cease-and-desist order and still does not inform possible customers about the resolution losses, the consumer case now is going to German court. What is important: This case is not only about the label "Full HD 3D" that Samsung used in the year 2011: Even though Samsung finally removed that label after thousands of customer complaints, Samsung still keeps secret about the resolution losses in all marketing material and data sheets, so that customers do not know about the 3D resolution losses ahead of a purchase.

At least this sounds like a result of sortsGadget54 wrote:My retailer wrote to me to tell me that he was contacting Samsung about my complaint and would get back to me in due course. Two days later he wrote to me again apologising on behalf of Samsung for having been mislead me and asked that I call in to the shop to discuss my requirements for a new TV. I haven't been able to get over to him as yet but I'm not sure that I would want another Samsung after the way their customer service department treated me. In any case the new models from Samsung and LG will be out within the next week or two and I want to keep my options open until I have seen them in the flesh

I want to ask if the Samsung d 6100 55" have the same problem in low-resolution 3d. I have read in this topic that TV d6xxxx panels of 60'' has no low rsolution problem, but the 55";

Re: D6500 3D Resolution NOT FULL HD
I have been offered a refund from Samsung because of the 3D issue (not as originally advertised by Samsung) for my D6100 which was purchased 6 months ago.
