Depends what precisely do you mean by "digital receiver"... and what precisely do you mean by "recording works without digital receiver" (which is simply impossible - the TV records ONLY digital broadcasting).

BTW, the PVR of course works only with the BUILT-IN tuner; it can't work with EXTERNAL set-top box (which you probably mean by the "digital receiver", right?).

I successfully completed this but am having the degraded menu look mentioned when i revert back to a D6000 as well. Has anyone been able to fix this?

Thanks fro the info. Can anybody tell me if there is significant difference between the 2 models ? Are both equipped with arm CPUs ?

T-GAS* firmware is only for arm models.

Now I'll have to figure out what's the difference between the 2. I've made a cable so I will try to debug it.

For those who had problems with 3D for changing the D6000 to D6500, can change to the model 6100. The 3D functions normally, as in the model D6000 and have the option to record TV.

Currently I'm interested in making skype to work, I don't use 3D much.
