Samsung BD-D5100

Post by trex2000 »

Hello,
I've recently bought this dvd player.
I know it's the cheapest one and cannot expect much from it, but here I come with a question:
Is it possible to listen to internet radio on it in some way ?
I have a linux based home server on which I have installed minidlna. It works ok for mp3, mkv and other movie format playback. It also displays subtitles.
But I could not manage to play back urls (I tried putting them in pls files too).
I've tried also with mediatomb, still no luck. The unit refuses to play back them.

So, generally, is there anything that could be installed on this ?
It only came with youtube, on some US version I saw it also has netflix ?

Thanks a lot!

Use xupnpd dlna server, it can handle radio and iptv urls for your bd player.

Hello.
I've compiled the xupnpd server, however for the built-in playlists, for video section it always gives unsupported format.
If I upload a playlist with an MPEG layer 3 audio stream (an internet radio) it will not show up in the list.

I guess the unit does not support this feature...

I tested my BD5100 today with my Serviio media server connection & all movies & Internet sources were playing fine, Serviio is running on a headless Windows Home Server (Server2003).
Serviio do a Linux solution also........

Recommend the Gossip Girl Season 5 DVD, a very good-looking DVD!
