Downgrade T-MST5DEUC (PSxxD6900 and PSxxD7000)

Post by Supermario »

Hi everyone,

I tried downgrading via DNS-Server on my PS51D6900. But on online-update the TV says there is no update available.
With your DNS Server I don't get an internet connection, is this right? If yes, maybe there's no firmware for my model on your server.
If so, could you please ad my model?

greetings
Mario

The Firmware 1019 for Mstar is crap, so I and many other people in europe would like to downgrade. Especially the plasma displays need a downgrade to get the good picture back. There is a bug in 1019fw that dimms the tv and worsen the picture. When activating energysaving-picture-off mode and then back on the picture has the brightness of the old firmware's back, but this you have to do all the time, so this is no solution. Nobody knows if samsung will ever fix this, so you are our last hope. Please add downgarde option for Mstar models.

This is tried, but samsung just saying maybe there will be a new fw. It's nearly 8 months since the 1019 and no reaction till now from samsung.
The best bugfree firmwares with good picture were 1015 and 1016. The 1015 I have here if you need it. The 1016 (the last good one, reported by many users) I couldn't find on the net.

@Supermario

i prepared one T-MST5DEUC-1009.1 but you need to know some things:
  • you can brick your tv
  • noone tried this before, you are the first
  • i need your devices DUID to enable the download for you
  • probably you can not switch to other firmware version after downgrade
  • you must post here in forum "yes, i will try this update"
  • maybe its simpler if you try to change your firmwares version via

    Code: Select all

    /mtd_rwarea/Version.x
thnx

Hello from Germany too,

i have too the PS59D7000 model and have same firmware problem with 1019 like Mario and Icke said. I get new mainboard from Samsung service... but they try to tell other people who comes with "the brightness is gone" that their tv is not broken and they had to make a photo from it otherwise Samsung will not send a tech to check it.

I have now 1015 on my new motherboard.... i am looking for original Samsung 1016... did anybody had this? I have little problems on 1015 with pumping brightness sometimes.... so i would like to test 1016... Please send me message when anybody had this version.

Thanks.
Regards,
Benny

PS: I like your DNS trick... very good idea  8-)

Where do I find the DUID?
Can't you use a newer FW like the 1015 for the downgrade-one?
Why shouldn't it be possible to switch firmware after downgrade?
And what do you mean by changing firmwares via

Code: Select all

/mtd_rwarea/Version.x
? Is there another way to downgrade? Because no one ever had find a way to downgrade D-Series TV's before your online DNS way.

And YES, I will try this update!
