Set Source On Startup

Post by HotBlack »

Many people involved in trying to hack their way to the perfect TV have recently been focusing on making XBMC run on devices like the Raspberry PI and MK802 HDMI stick devices. I stopped following SamyGo sometime ago and decided to be content with just having a script which connected to my NAS and gave me access to my movie collection via Samsungs rather crappy user interface. However now I have been busy getting Linux to boot on the MK802 and it looks like it will be possible to eventually make XBMC run on this device. Eventually I would hope to only use my TV via XBMC.

However one small detail bothers me, it would be very nice if one setup the TV (a B650) so that it switched to a specific HDMI input on startup. Ideally via a script that is run on boot. Is this possible? Did anybody find a way to set the input source via the shell?

No, but you can define startup source from service menu hotel submenu.

Wow, that is much simpler, I have spent 3 hours (avoiding my thesis) and added scripts to start the Remote Lan Control stuff and then have a script which spawns a thread and waits until startup is done (just by a delay) and then have the TV telnet to itself switch to the source I want.

Yes... the hotel menu way is much simpler :)
