Re: Firmware Downgrade D-Series (SamyGO Proof of Concept, BD
for the peps that are tryin to downgrade D-Series , no need to change router settings at all , plug it into the lan on the back of the player , go to settings / internet conection somthing like that / see if the player connects to the internet it will, now go to settings firmware upgrade sellect internet / change from auto to manual and put in the dsn number only the dsn number needs to be changed ! , exit and turn off the player / turn off at the wall ! leave it off for 3 min , turn back on , go to settings and upgrade fireware from internet and it will download the downgraded firmware and insall all done perfect on my bd-5500 a week ago.

That's my problem. I can only change DNS in my player BD-D8200N in the settings how it connects to internet, not where the firmware upgrade is. So when I change the DNS suddenly it cannot download the firmware, but it detects it 1107 (I have 1110).steve190669 wrote:now go to settings firmware upgrade sellect internet / change from auto to manual and put in the dsn number only the dsn number needs to be changed

Just in case this helps anyone....I recently bought a Samsung BD-D5300 Blue Ray Player from Tesco Direct in the UK (in May). Knowing nothing about Cinavia I stupidly updated the firmware to version 1025. Using a usb stick to play Wrath of the Titans brought up Cinavia Message 3 (and muted the sound) after 20 minutes. Not happy, I began my research....
My solution was to return the original player as faulty and ask for a replacement, hoping if I didnt upgrade the firmware on the replacement the shipped firmware might be old enough to allow me to play the same Wrath of the Titans file ok.
The replacement arrived with firmware version 1019. And, low and behold, it plays the same Wrath of the Titans file, via usb, perfectly fine.
I havent tried any other infected movie file but, as far as I can tell from this one movie file, firmware 1019 seems to be Cinavia free. Suffice to say, this player will be going nowhere near an ethernet connection. As this player will mainly be used for usb files im not too worried about future blueray disc compatibility.
I just hope however, for the odd disc I do play, they cant "upgrade" my player with software sneakily installed from a blueray or dvd disc....

Hi - I got a BD-D5300 Blue Ray Player....i get to where it says downloading 001112 version, but just stays on 0% downloading, and then bombs out after a few mins...am i doing something wrong?
Re: Firmware Downgrade D-Series (SamyGO Proof of Concept, BD
I've got exact problem with my BD-D8200N. I suspect it's the DNS. If you change it, it sees the new firmware, but it cannot connect to network and thus not download the firmware.Dade wrote:i get to where it says downloading 001112 version, but just stays on 0% downloading, and then bombs out after a few mins...am i doing something wrong?
How to solve that?

Okay so I too have the BD-D5500 and followed the exact same steps listed above, but with NO luck. I performed the lookup and was able to reach the DNS address 46.4.199.222. I get the following error "No firmware to upgrade currently".moreins wrote:Hello
I can report that my BD-D5500 firmware (B-BRCMBSP) was successfully downgraded from 1022 to 1015 without any trouble at all!!![]()
I can also confirm that the 1015.5 version DOES NOT CONTAIN CINAVIA CRAP![]()

Downgrade progress went very smooth:
IP setup was according to my home network:
IP: 192.168.1.222
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.50
DNS:46.4.199.222
Downloading firmware:
It did get stuck at 90%-91% for 10 or 20 seconds, but it just continued downloading after this.

Thanks for all the effort you put into this! I was about to kill myself after i upgraded my player without knowing about the cinavia restriction.
Best regards
FYI... I am currently on firmware 1025. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I tried viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4244&start=80#p33061 method but i ended up upgrading the firmware...
successful BD D5300 downgrade
You guys Rock.. Successfully downgraded my BD D5300 from 1025 back to 1015 this morning ..checked a couple of cinivia titles and so far so good. The fact that you guys made it so simple, well just freaking brilliant. I absolutely love Samsung products, but the fact that there was not a single mention of Cinivia in the update notes really leaves a bad taste of mistrust.
Either way, just wanted to take the time and holler on the board to let you guys know of another successful downgrade.. keep up the great work
