Can't get my D5500 to recognize any new firmware ("No software to upgrade currently"). Did everything as described, changed DNS for my router and BD Player, did a factory reset and cold booted.

Model Code: BD-D5500-ZF
Software Version: BSP-D5500ZF-1028.0
Firmware: B-BRCMBSP 1028.0

OP says 1025 is not supported, nothing about 1028 though, so I guess it should work?
Should downgrading 1028 work or isn't it accessible yet?

If 1028 is not supported yet, I'd gladly be the guinea pig for this one

Anyways, here's the updated: IT WORKED...!!! downgraded back to version 1015.

Samsung BD-D5700 (downgraded from 1028 ==> 1015 successfully).
Yes... I can confirm that it worked 100%. I had 1028 and downgraded to 1015 successfully [I've posted this on page 16].

Hi Bluebirds,

yes your firmware is the FIRHTBEUC so it should be supported. In fact just follow the steps given in the first post, your HT will know whether the firmware version available on the server will fit your device.

Have fun.

Thanks very much.

I now have the same issue hany8 refers to. My unit shows 1012 available and downloads until it reaches 86% then starts again from zero.

I have tried setting both dns setting in my router and unit to the required settings but still nothing.

Anyone know if Hany8 found a fix?

My firmware: BPH-D8500EUB-1010.1 My device: BD-D8200N

I managed to download this firmware:

SamyGO Patched Firmwares!!! Features
B-FIRHRDEUC_001107 (success: pending)

Is it ok to install it on my unit, or will it be bricked?

Thanks in advance.

Hey,

this is not particularly an error. What happens is, is that the bluray player needs to call a particular website to see whether the firmware it is downloading is ok. In some cases this IP address is cached by the bluray player within the DNS settings.

First make sure after you set the DNS that you do a cold restart, means you unplug the device completely for at least 30 seconds.
Second make sure you do not enter smarthub as this also modifies the cached IP.

I needed 2 tries, with a number of cold reboots to get it to work, but basically you change your DNS settings, keep the ip settings in manual mode.
Then cancel the internet testing press exit on the remote and turn the device off. Unplug wait, then plug back in.
Turn it on and then go straight to settings -> support and update firmware. The possibility maybe greyed out but you just wait a little.

It should work then. If it doesnt, you can wait a little and try again.

Good Luck

Hey it should be ok, I haven't seen anybody else do that particular version yet, but I dont think you'll brick it unless there is an error in the flashchip. If it is an error in the flashchip and you still have warranty, then samsung should replace the unit as this type of brick could happen with any update.

Let us know how you get on.
