Hello,
I registerd today to this great forum after reading in "SamyGo" for a couple of months. Firstly I really have to appreciate for your work and my respect goes to all developers!
Last week I downgraded my BD-D6900ZF succesfully from B-FIRURDEUC-firmware 2011/09/01_001007 to the patched B-FIRURDEUC_001103 using the SamyGO-server. Everything went well after setting DNS in DB-player and my router to 46.4.199.222 and then following the instructions of the first post.
Firmware 1007 did't show any restrictions so far but I downgraded because I want to get running the SamyGO extensions on the BD.

In this context my question goes to arris69. Can you check the link to the features of the patched BD-firmwares in the first post of this threat?
(link seems to be dead)
Thank you in advance.

Andysilent or anyone else,
Can you confirm that DNS setting in BOTH player and router to 46.4.199.222 is required? This could be why some of us are not getting a response as a previous message said to change dns in router but if it mentioned player I missed it.
Thanks

@eaw
changing dns-server in boths devices is what I did. You have to be sure, that the SamyGO DNS-server is used for resolving the domains. If not you may still request at Samsungs web site for firmware updates, even if DNS is changed in the BD. This may depend on your specific way of web access (e.g. your combination of router hardware /internet provider). But I'm not an expert in this topic.

I finally managed to downgrade my HT-D5500ZF from 1015 to 1012. Here's what i did:

1 - Changed DNS on the HT to 46.4.199.222.
2 - Canceled the internet checking and went to the main menu.
3 - Did a cold reboot (switched the HT off the power for +/- 2 min)
4 - Turned the HT on and went straight to Support and waited for the Update firmware to be available
5 - Once it was available, it found firmware 1112 (that actually is 1012) and donwloaded it entirely.

Thanks for all the tips on the previous posts. This forum is awesome. Hope this helps more people having the same issue as me.

Dear friends,

First I would like to thank all of you for all your hard work. I am having serious trouble downgrading from 01015 to 01012. I have follow all the steps but with no success :( .

My configuration is

Samsung HT-D5500_ZF
Sof. ver.: HTB-D6500EUB-1015

So here is what I did

1. Setup DNS 46.4.199.222 on both router (Netgear WNR2000 and HT)
2. Unplug the core from the wall and waited for more than 10 min
3. Turn it on all appliance
4. Went strait to Upgrade
5.Got to the screen downloading firmware 01112 (but it is stuck at 0% and does not move)
6. After a minute it kick me out with a Error code:601 operation time out.

With this setting I try with my web browser to go to infolink.samygo.tv and www.samsungotn.net and I got to some page. So I thought I can connect to the site but still nothing works. O yes only this site works non other!

when I type nslookup www.samsugto.net

Code: Select all

Address 192.168.1.1

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: otnopenapiwww.cloudapp.net
Adress: 70.37.72.170
Alias: www.samsungotn.net
when I type nslookup samygo.tv

Code: Select all

Address 192.168.1.1

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: samygo.tv
Adress: 46.4.199.222
when I type nslookup www.samsungotn.net infolink.samygo.tv

Code: Select all

Server: unknown
Address 46.4.199.222

Name: infolink.samygo.tv
Adress: 46.4.199.222
Aliases: www.samsungotn.net
Question is this downgrade related to REGION?
Is is possible that my IP is blocked at server?
I have static IP to my home, does this relate any to the issue?
Would it be possible to create USB upgrade (not downgrade) for example to 01015.1 or 01016. Since my (and couple of the other people to)network download is not working.
Could I connect to some proxy that would make the difference?
Any ideas what am I doing wrong?

Cheers Ziga
