How long to load a Blu-Ray ?

Post by oga83 »

On both my BD-E8300 and BD-D8900, loading a blu-ray takes between 30s and 1 minute
In the meantime, the screen is black, and the front panel is displaying LOADING or 00000.
I tested it with several different blu-ray.
Am I the only one to experience this and to think that it is far too long ?

Sadly no, bluray loading times are in that region, it all depends on the speed of the disc reader and the processor that is used but usually 30s is what a player needs to get the disc going

Thanks. I am wondering what's taking so long to read when the disk is inserted...

Hi, all - new around here but glad I found you. I have two Sammy blu-ray players and one, a BD-P1590, has been junk out of the box (I even tried the Samsung "new" firmware and now it's stuck asking me what language I want but won't accept any remote commands) while the second, a BD-C5500, has been working but started with some annoyances and has been adding some over time. I did have it hooked up to the internet so it probably got all the newest firmware without my knowing it, which is the only explanation as to why not only blu-ray discs but video files played via the USB port OR from a disc can take forever to start as is seems to be trying to read the file. The file is actually running - the time code is running and when it finally does kick in, that's where it starts so you have to skip back to the beginning and, of course, can't do any scanning or even pausing on most files.

I don't have a wifi stick and I've switched to a wireless internet service in the house so the network cable is no longer hooked up. I'm hoping there's a free range firmware I can load that will fix some of these problems as well as set up Region Free & allow it to play NTSC & PAL files without issue (the only DVD player I've ever owned with this issue and it's maddening as my collection is about half & half).

Many thanks to all!

I have BD-D8200N and for me the blu-ray discs loads in about 15 seconds or so.
