BD-E6100

Post by greenhorn »

I just bought one of these BD-E6100. I'm so disappointed to find that the only working dlna server for these E-series is AllShare by Samsung. Do you think it can be rooted and implanted nfs/cifs client or to make it work with any other dlna server?
The Firmware Version I have is B-FIRBPEWWC 1006. I saw the latest available is 1013.
TV: UE40F7000 - T-FXPDEUC-1115.0 - SamyGO Extensions on F series
TV: UE55ES7000S - T-ECPDEUC-2003.4 - SamyGO tool Right from USB - no develop account is needed
TV: UE40C6710 - T-VALDEUC 3011 - Hacking TV over Hotel mode (C650 T-VALDEUC-3009.2)
BD-Player: BD-E6100 - B-FIRBPEWWC 1063.3 - rooted, no more Cin@vi@

Any idea how can unlock the player for all regions? It only plays European DVDs/BD.

I already made the player region free. Probably will work on other Samsung BD Players. It worked for my BD-E6100. This is what I found as procedure:

Code: Select all

**NOTE** this was done with the following:
Firmware : 1006.3
Remote : AK59-00148A

1. Ensure that there is no disk in the tray.

2. Switch the player off and then back on. This is necessary to clean-boot the
firmware.

3. Wait until the main menu page appears and the player stops doing
anything.

4. Press the eject button on your remote to open the tray.

5. Press the eject button on your remote to close the tray.

6. As soon as the "No Disk" message appears at the top left corner do the following.

8. Press the STOP button (the square symbol)

9. Enter 76884 on the number pad.

10. The region code "4" should appear at the top left corner of the screen.(this just flashed on then off, so keep an eye on the screen)

11. Enter a "9" to make the player region free.

12. Power down and power up again.

13. Play a foreign DVD to verify the change.

================================================
================================================

Firstly, you must start entering the code just after the "No Disk" message is shown and before the message disappears.

Secondly, the STOP key is part of the code. All six keys must be entered smoothly as "STOP 76884". The entry gets timed out so you can't stop in the middle and restart.

If you don't see the "4" the first time, don't worry. Just start from step 4 again (took me 2 goes to get it, it is all about the timing)

================================================

For people from other parts of the world, all region codes are as follows

1 ? 2 9 3 3 4
2 ? 5 7 5 3 8
3 ? 5 6 7 3 2
4 ? 7 6 8 8 4
5 ? 5 3 8 1 4
So you should enter 57538 in step 9 if you have an European model. and region code "2" should appear in step 10. It is of course only for the DVD part, blu-ray will stay locked to region B.

The region code didn't flash up but it worked for me.

Thank you mate for your detailed help but I am still struggling w/o success.

I don't get the region code "2" on the screen, I tried all types of timings with entering "9" right after entering "STOP"57538

Maybe it's because I have firmware 1013, don't really know. I also saw another post for the same player with completely different approach but no luck either.

Please help if you think there are any further intricacies in entering the code and 9 at the right time and free the darn thing. Are there any people who can easily hack it physically and make the BD player also free ?

Also, do you know any ways you can implant apps from other regions (especially US) into the player ?

Much appreciated in advance

You can also try TDM on debug console:
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4637
Or prepare FaNet cable:

Thanks Greenhorn, but I am complete newbie and I don't know what TDM/debug console is all about. Is there a link for a primer ? All these years I just inputed a code on my player and I could free it on the spot. These new players seem too tough to crack

please share some more of your wisdom

TDM stands for "Top Debug Menu". It is a console menu that allow you to perform some actions on your unit.

However, it is not so easy to get it... you need to open your unit and do some harware stuff : http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Serial_console

Cheers mate, this stuff is just too advanced for me !!! What happened to the good old days when we entered a code on the remote ? Do you think that the latest BD firmware (1013) may be responsible for not kicking in the region free 57538 code ? You guys seem to know a lot here !!

Maybe there is a restriction in 1013, I do not know. The TDM procedure is not that hard. You have to open the box and solder 3 cables. All you need is cheap Nokia CA-42 or DKU-5 cable (about 2USD incl. shipping) or other FTDI cable and computer with hyperterminal or putty.
