Alternative Firmware menu

Hi,
Whats up with that "Alternative Firmware" button? If we can install alternative firwmare why its so hard to root the tv? Are these alternative firmwares ubuntu tv, google tv?

Nope. That menu is enabled if you download a new firmware and don't install it.
So you can then switch back and forth from the 2 versions (actual and next)
