Post by Gore »

An intressting thing happend to me when trying to play movie wrath of the titans,I inserted the disc into the player and played it about 19min to see if there was cinavia,it seemed not because of the 19min test i did,so i took the disc out and inserted it again to make it start from beginning(i could have used the controller, but i didnt for some reasson)then after choosen subtitles the movie starts and runs about 2min,then cinavia shows up!!how can this happen when it played about 19min before? I have firmware 1007.

Hi Gore,

Well the time for cinavia to show up is not always the same. It depends on how it is encoded in the audio stream. I had movies that were triggered after 15 min some after 25min. With 1007 you should not have cinavia in the firmware. Have you tried updating it to version 1112 that is available within the samygo downgrade process?
Further do you get cinavia messages when playing through USB? USB sticks of 32gb are relatively cheap now.

Hi
Yes ok it shows up after diffrent times, but the disc is static,i mean the cinavia is,and will be ,in same position everytime i try to play THIS disc, but the most intressting is about the 1007 version,as it shouldnt have this issue,i havent tried to replaced it to 1012.My solution is PowerDVD 12 software, connected via hdmi1.4 from pc to bd player, and output to projector,3D is working very good with this software, and the cinavia issue is GONE and far away,..,so far at least.is there anyone out there who had cinavia issue via usb or the hdmi input on this model?

Edit:i have a nvidia vison compatible grapicscard, and stereoscopic 3D enabled

Hi,

the cinavia is not in 1 particular bit in the audio stream, it is more in many bits, and if these bits reach a certain amount the message is displayed. I.e. if you start playing the DVD a couple of weeks later from the position you saw the initial cinavia, it should not appear until the next ~20min. Anyway I have heard someone else say that 1007 had this cinavia protection but my HT-D5500 never was at 1007 so I cannot say whether that makes any difference.

As for your setup, this should not have an impact on the cinavia message, as cinavia is part of the processing during CD and USB playback only. Anything coming in through HDMI or Digitial input does not go through the cinavia process. Anyway, I have not seen the cinavia message in 1012, so it may be worth for you to try to update to that version.

Bad news,i still get cinavia playing from pc to bd player with power dvd!,so i did a last chance set up and conected the audio via the 3,5mm to aux input on the player, and hdmi direct to projector, not via the bd player, but cinavia still comes up after a while, this really sucks,This means that cinavia is watching digital and analog inputs on this modell
i should try the 1012version,i dont have anything to loose,.
Do you have the file,or link to exactly that firmware u are using?

hi again,i was thinking about the rca ports(aux)how can the bd player send out a image through that analog port?the cinavia message wasent in the bottom of the screen as when playing a disc, but upper right side, this must mean it is power dvd that produced the message, because when pressing ctrl+alt there is a DRMagent/sercice running and some other programs when power dvd is in use,so this must be the results of powerdvd because the projector was connected to th pc,bd player wasent involved at all,am i thinking wrong here?

edit:yes power dvd12 has cinavia integrated, but version 11 hasnt,But the aacs keys will promt the user to update the newer version of the software, this means powerdvd 12,and as i said it has cinavia,
Iam trying to use dvdfab convertion now, making a Mkvfile of the bd iso, side by side 3d,it will remove cinavia as i readed, but quality will be lower

dvdfab is the shit!used it to convert bd iso file, and you will be able to play the mkv files with my old love, vlc that is!but not the newest version,it wil lag very much, version 1.1.9 will work better, wtrath of the titans IS a good movie, nice 3D effects

If you use vlc and you got lag just turn off the filters in the advanced settings menu :-). It'll work then. As for powerdvd I don't use it so I can comment sorry.
