This is what the back of my TV says...
Model Code: PN51E450A1FXZA
Version No: TD02
In the service menu it says "T-MX9HAUSC-1008.4" which I assume is the firmware version.

1.) The model number (PN51E450A1FXZA) doesn't seem to follow the format that the wiki references. It seems like it should be ES4500 but mine says E450A. Is mine considered an ES series?

2.) In my service menu there is no option called "RS232 mode." How do I enable the Ex-Link/RS232 port? http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Top_De ... u_settings

3.) When I connect my Ex-Link cable to the TV and my computer, I am not getting anything on the terminal. I use almost the same setup to console into routers so I know the serial adaptor works. I am using Z-Term on OSX Mountain Lion with a TrendNet USB to serial adaptor. I created an Ex-Link cable using the following diagram.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I would like to install SamyGO but I would even be happy just to get console access to the TV :-)

Hi,

your TV is E series, plasma model E450. This is very basic TV with poor hacking possibilities. TDM on the wiki is based on D series, showed as example, real TDM may vary from model to model. In service menu you have to search rs232 and set it to debug. The place of this submenu (and perhaps name too) may be different on E series. Check it by self.

We don`t have root access to your TV model, i don`t know any who is working on this at this time. If you`re skilled, you could try to get it by self using info on our wiki/forum....

Eh, I was afraid that would be the answer :-\ It's a nice TV but there isn't much to it other than a screen and a tuner. I actually thought it was a D series initially because that's what I wrote down but that's not whats on the back of the TV.

I checked all the options in the service menu and there was nothing that said RS232. What else might it be called?

I'll take a look at the documents and see what i can do but I have a short attention span so chances are I won't be the one to gain root access to it. I'll post in the wiki if I make any progress though
