HT-D5500 SamyGO extensions
Hi All,
I was wondering, I was playing with the SamyGO Patched firmware, and I have yet to be able to use it in any sensible way. Does anybody using the FIR based firmware, which downgrades fine, got SamyGO extensions to work properly on their system? I.e. do you get a virtual USB drive?
Looking more closely with the commands that are being called, it seems to be an issue with insmod, some parameters are wrong somewhere. Anybody else with the same issues?
Thanks

Really no one has tried to use the SamyGO extentions on their FIR based firmware? Even if you were successful, please tell me!

Re: HT-D5500 SamyGO extensions
SamyGO extensions are running well on FIR based D-series BD-Players with SamyGO-patched B-FIRURDEUC_001103 Firmware (see first post of BD D-Series Firmware Downgrade thread). To install SamyGO extensions you have to follow the wiki for D-Series TVs, ignoring the information that BD-Players are not supported.
I have no information if it does work also for HT devices. You can try it on your own risk (or by support of the highly engaged, but always cooperative experts of this forum).
EDIT:
To avoid misunderstanding of my post: patched B-FIRURDEUC_001103 Firmware is running on e.g. BD-D6900 models and as far as I know not on HT-D5500. But BD-D6900 is also a FIRENZE-based player. SamyGO extensions can be installed on BD-D6900 model following the wiki. Didn't check all possibilities of the extensions but NFS-shares are working fine.

Hi,
I have a bd-d5500-zf
I downgraded the software to BSP-D5500-1015.5 using the downgrade procedure.
I cannot install the SamyGo extensions.
From your post I understood that I need the F-BIRURDEUC_001103 software but I do not know where to find it nor how to push it into the drive.
Any idea ?
Thanks in advance

I have already tried. An application call "Broken TV" is installed. I understood that this means that the device is not supported.
Is this true ?
The above text let me think that it should be working with a different firmware.
But I do not know how to install it. I executed the downgrade procedure and got BSP-D5500-1015.5 installed. The post is reading that with the F-BIRURDEUC_001103 should work.
Any help is well come.
Cheers

Re: HT-D5500 SamyGO extensions
Hi idollar,
the hack does install on an FIR based HT firmware and it should work on your machine as well. Have you got the right firmware on? i.e. have you installed it from the "downgrade" process? I have a bd d5500 at home, so I could try and put the samygo patched firmware on and see whether it works, but it'll have to wait until the weekend.
As for my own problem I guess nobody has an idea on what to do when insmod wont insert the module because of some wrong parameters?

Re: HT-D5500 SamyGO extensions
Hello Chaosmaker,
Yes. I installed the software from the "downgrade" process, the Blue-Ray does work. I could use the remote control to make it DVD region free (my main concern).
My issue is that I cannot install any additional SamyGo extension nor to root the device. I have followed the procedure in (http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Rootin ... cpu_models). I can connect to the alternative application server. The new aps are downloaded but I get a "broken TV" appt. I understood that this means that the device is not supported.
As said in my previous posts, I understood that there should be a way to get the device rooted.
Cheers

under -> http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Rootin ... cpu_models
"Rooting D series arm cpu models"
BD players are not supported!
I have only seen this text now.

Just to clarify,
I just double checked, your bd player doesnt use FIR based firmware but B-BRCMBSP so thats why SamyGO doesnt work.
