BluRay BD-C5900

Post by Ilanio »

Hello all,

I have a Samsung BD-C5900 running at firmware 1014.1

This latest firmware was downloaded and updated by player and I think the firmware was corrupted since the unit stops to read some original discs that have new copy protections (like THOR, SHREK, etc.), but others discs with older copy protection (like Cars, Monsters vs Aliens, etc.) plays normally.

I want to downgrade to version 1010.4 or 1009.1 (that I have the files) or, at least, reapply the version 1014.1 to make the player read the discs again.

I tryed to reapply the latest firmware and/or downgraded to earlier firmwares but player aborts operation displaying that I already have the latest version.

Someone know how to do this?

Thanks.

Please, send me steps to downgrade firmware...

I tried to downgrade with both firmware 1010.4 and 1009.1 with USB but got message ?Current firmware is latest Version?

I tried to edit firmware 1010.4 using Hex editor. Changed firmware name to 1014.2 and updated date in the firmware. Got rid of latest version message and system started updating. However, after some time got message ?Error in data file?

Need help from experts.

I gave up and sent my BD Player to service center of Samsung.

They reapplied firmware and the BD back to normal operation. But it cost me U$95,00.

Please, discover how to reapply firmware on a BD with latest firmware, please.

Sorry for the delayed reply.

I already tried to follow steps of that thread, getting following error message:

"System cannot connect to the internet for upgrade. Please check your network setting"

If I perform network test, I get following message:

"The HTTP port is disabled. Please check if the HTTP is blocked by something like the internal firewall program".

Any help in this regard is appreciated.
