HT-D5500 Whats the best Firmware (Cinavia Free)??

Hi there,

Like many others when I got my HT-D5500 Home Theatre Blue Ray Player I upgraded firmwares as an when they were available.
Unfortuneatly one of the recent firmwares introduced cinavia to my Blue ray player.

Thank god for this site and excellant work in providing a firmware downgrade facility

My HT-D5500 is now Cinavia Free!! Many thanks.

What I need to know now is what is the most upto date Cinavia Free firmware for my system??

Is the "downgrade firmware available via the DNS Downgrade fix" the latest "Pre-Cinavia" firmware?

Or do I need to upgrade??

Reason I ask, is that it appears since the downgrade that .MKV's no longer work?? (I only have 3 MKV's that were downloaded today and
none work as Hard drive went tits up with my entire collection on)

If I need to upgrade Firmwares, which version and where from??

Not to worry, it appears that its my Western Digital My Book Lives "Twonky Server" software. I need to pay a small upgrade fee on the OEM v5 server to get V7.

If I copy the MKV files to a USB stick and try in my Blue Ray player they work fine.

Still out of interest, do I need to upgrade firmware on my HT-D5500 after I did the SamyGO downgrade? Or does the version I downgraded to contain all the latest updates minus Cinavidia?

Hi,

first affected firmware with cinavia is version 1013.1 and latest free is 1012.2,
which you will apply during downgrade fw from this site
