Enable PVR UN46D6900 American? fw gasfakuc Possible?

I have 46' D6900 bought from bestbuy about 6 months ago. It has the not so popular t-gasfakuc firmware version 1019.2

The firmware is supported I can install samygo dev app. I can enter service mode via power off the TV then press MUTE, 1, 8, 2 POWER. Initaly there is no PVR in sub menu and I can not change model.

I can communicate with the TV via my headphone IR transmitter using the provided .wav files. Info and power off work. However factory and 3speed do nothing, it does not make my TV Led blink red ( like it does when something is received from remote). So I am not able to enable hidden features.

I can not test ruSamsungTVCommunicator right now because ironically it has expired and a new version is not do out until later this week. After reading about PVR I want it and have been trying frantically to enable it as of now all I can do is wait and look for support.

I dont know if the factory or 3speed will work in TVCommunicator as it does not work with my IR Transmitter. I do not know if PVR can even be turned on because I have an American model.

If TVCOmmunicator works and I am able to change the model to enable PVR can I change it to d6300 to enable it? I believe they use the same firmware however I have found conflicting information.

TVCommunicator enabled hidden features but PVR support is still grayed out

Changed model to d6500, changed region to KOR in options, set laguage back to english, 5th option in menu, 3rd down. IN THERE! PVR and Guide are aviable in smart hub. Im likin the guide. I cant believe theyev been screwing us Americans out these features. Iev been wanting Guide since I got the thing.

Anyways, 2 things I want to try is change model to a 7000 series so that I can download the Amazon Prime instant streaming app ( samsung does us the favor of blocking this app if you do not have a 2012+ model) and change the time in the guide.

My TV seems to be running better now. I have more options in my menu for picture and sound. Im catching more channels on my Antenna!

Are there any disadvantages of using model D6500 over D6900? D6900 is stated in the wiki as an American only model it seems to me as its the same thing as D6500 only more restricted for the Americans. Anyways when I switch to D6300 model my Wifi didnt work, thankfully I had a long network cable and the ethernet still worked. That is why I an unwilling to mess with the model settings anymore. I got what I want working and Im going to call it quits!

Sorry, just to be clear, are you saying you were successful in enabling PVR functionality by changing region to KOR?
And how does the EPG guide work? I mean does it populate the north american channels even though you're on KOR region??? Can you post some screenshots of how it looks like?

I changed the model to D6500 then changed to KOR. EPG works with american channels but the time zone is off ( it doesnt bother me ).

I am having trouble with some of my apps now, I use smartMythTV, and when I exit the application or return to the menus it freezes the TV completely, I have to unplug the TV from the wall to unfreeze it. Also EPG has to buffer the TV show it is playing in the back ground while I flip through the TV guide. This is extremely annoying so I have not been using it for that reason. PVR works great though, I got a USB laptop enclosure dangling from the back and I use it every Sunday for my football games.

Anyways, I am going to try and set model back to D6900 and see if it still lets me have PVR.

While the PVR is no big deal for me, I'm rather curious whether just changing the region to KOR (without changing the model number) would give me the EPG guide.... I have a D6000 series Sammy.
What are the chances of bricking your tv with that kind of change? I'd imagine minimal? (since the model # remains the same, just region changes)
