UN60ES8000FXZA PC compatibility

Post by Sazbat »

After the last firmware update I seem to be having a very awkward problem with my TV.

STB ( DTV ) seems fine . HDMI audio and video work

My PC sees the HDMI as a DVI connector and thinks the native resolution is 1024X768. I can bump up the res to 1080p but that the PC thinks the native is 1024X768 causes problems with games and on occasion when booting up it reverts back to 1024X768. Also I cannot get audio to work. The PC does not detect the HDMI connection so I cannot enable the sound.

I have tried 2 different video cards ( NVIDIA GTX 670 and a GTX 560TI ) both have the same problem.

I have also connected the PC to an older Samsung TV via HDMI and the PC can detect the HDMI.

I have set the source types to PC DVI and Nothing and Sat STB all seem to be the same.

Talked to customer support and they had no clue but they collected data from the TV and said they would get back to me.

ANy thoughts or help welcomed.

Looks like I partially found the issue but still need help.

My guess is that when i did the update ( Firmware ) the EDID on the TV was changed, removed or something.

I was able to hack the EDID on the computer to resolve my HDMI sound and resolution but I don't really know what I need to do to get 3D TV play to work again.

It worked before the firmware update.

Anyone know where to get an .inf file to override the Monitor driver to allow me to use HDMI sound, 1080P resolution and configure it correctly so I can use 3D?

Thank you
