I wish to know if the Samsung UA40ES6220R supports PVR mode and Timeshift. The television was bought online, and the type is shown to be UE_Thai.
Also, I have been facing problems in entering the extended service menu on the television. I can enter the Service Menu using the Info+Menu+Mute+Power sequence, but cannot enter the extended service menu for changing the region and LOCAL_SET. I have experimented with the Factory+3Speed sequence, the Hotel Mode hack, and everything I could have tried, but it did not lead to unlocking of Expert, Region and LOCAL_SET. It made no difference. Kindly help me.
Thanking You

Although many Samsung TV's have the PVR/timeshift function disabled (set to off) due to local and regional copyright laws, you can enable. According to Samsung the 2012 sets which should have the built-in PVR are:
a. LED: ES5500 and above, EH models does not support PVR.
b. Plasma: E550 and E8000.
As to getting into the grayed out service menu, you need a factory service remote, Part# AA81-00243A, REMOCON ASSY,TM930 SERVICE. You can get one for $21.00 from http://www.samsungcanadaparts.com/product/inv_9416241.
Then you need to read the factory service manual, which tells you how to use the remote, and in what menu the PVR setting is in. Once you have the factory options open, just change PVR "off" to "on". You can read a copy I have on SkyDrive here http://sourceforge.net/projects/samygo/ ... F/download. The one I have posted is for a UN46ES8000F, but it should give you an idea what you are looking at.
Best of luck

Are you saying Timeshift can be enabled automatically?Highlander wrote:Although many Samsung TV's have the PVR/timeshift function disabled (set to off) due to local and regional copyright laws, you can enable. According to Samsung the 2012 sets which should have the built-in PVR are:

I'm not sue what you mean?
It is part of the PVR function. Record TV, or timeshift TV (pause, rw, ff, play). Once you turn the PVR to on, you have timehift.
So I'm not sure what you mean by auto.

Just a little insight back on the C series (possibly D) timeshift worked automatically without pressing pause, so the channel would buffer without user input and there was also a option to turn it on or off via the tools menu. The E series seems to have lost this feature.
