Hello,
I've got a brand-new BD-E8500 BD/HDD combo, so I put it into my livingroom and sidelined my BD-C8500 into the bedroom. Now I'd like to watch the TV recordings stored on BD-C8500 in my livingroom furthermore (and the other way round), but I'm not able to stream it via AllShare to my new BD-E8500.
In this regard I wrote to the Samsung customer service. They told me I'm not able to stream the TV recordings due to copyright restrictions.
I don't understand this explanation because I'm able to stream all other media (e.g. my private music collection) from one device to another. At last it's my (and not Samsung's) business to protect my private network from accessing through unauthorized persons...
Now my question: Is there any patched firmware to release this function? The devices both have DLNA functionality, so technically it must be possible. Thus, I think it doesn't matter what content I'd like to stream as long as the settings won't prevent it.
Thanks in advance and kind regards
Hen
Sharing TV recordings with AllShare
Re: Sharing TV recordings with AllShare
I think tv recordings are crypted and can only be decrypted on the tv that recorded them.
You can stream other content because they are not crypted.
First step is to find a way to decrypt I guess.
I think you will find some threads talking about decrypting recording but do not know if they apply to your model or firmware version.
