Maybe reinstall SKYPE, or put a new FIRMWARE...is enought to make me without worries...right?
Exactly, - and if you ALSO want to be "safe" from the 1% skilled Samsung techies,
you should remove all custom uploaded libraries (.so) and any remaining key-files (.key) and config-files
if they are stored in internal memory ..

Dont let him browse your external USB-storage if keys are stored there .. or delete them prior to his visit.

Also delete the SamyGO library injector executable, and restore any scripts you might have modified.

All this can be done with an FTP-client just before you remove the root itself.

If I was you .. FORGET ABOUT IT .. No techie gives a rats ass .. Their salary sucks,
and they dont benefit from a massive amount of paperwork trying to make the small
print i warrenty stick .. I know techs, and we cant be bothered really :-)

Set passwords ? [Re: [GUIDE] SamyGO PVRDecoder for E/F]

Thanks for that great tool! Got SamyGo working on ES6710 (and samyGOPVRDecoder on wine :D )

Insatallation of SamyGo would possibly have been more straitforward by local apache: InstallSamyGO tool wasn't able to install SamyGo (Network error, Stage 1, Stage 2 : error) but was good to repair Autostart once SamygoWidget was copied to /mtd_down/widgets/user/SamyGO on Browser-exploit's rootshell (which was on port 23, couldn't find ftp).

But I don`t feel comfortable leaving open root-access to my TV.
Can I set telnet/ftp - passwords on SamyGo and samyGOPVRDecoder or use ssh ?

Restrict your TV access to localnet only .. Your router should be able to hide it from outside world.

Re: [GUIDE] SamyGO PVRDecoder for E/F - AV warning?

Post by faramir516 »

I downloaded the ZIP and extracted the EXE, but my AV tool (AVG 2014) told me, that the software would be infected with "Tool.UB.dropper".
AVG's information to this threat: http://www.avgthreatlabs.com/virus-and- ... info/tool/
The AV's realtime protection does'nt allow me to start the executable.
Is there a "clean" version of this tool available, or is AVG just wrong?
