BD-F5100 - Cinavia, recent february 2014 update

Post by thed0g »

I've recently started getting the Cinavia code 3 messages on my BD-F5100/EN player. The firmware got updated to BSP-F5100WWB-1010.0.zip on February 5th. I'm not sure if this firmware is at fault for sudden Cinavia nagging, since so far I've researched all models since 2012 have Cinavia built in by default, so perhaps I was just lucky and never watched any movies with the protection. Is my logic plausable ?

I've been looking for the previous version BSP-F5100WWB-1009.3.zip from 3rd September to try a downgrade, but it's nowhere to found (found only the US ZAB zips). Anyone might have it ?

So, it might not even be the firmware at fault, since this player is made in 2013 and probably had the protection from the beginning. If anyone can approve my theory and/or knows more, please let me know.

I have 1009.3 fw (stock) in my BD-F5100 and haven't upgraded so far.
I've heard that it's got Cinavia also but I probably haven't played anything infected so far.
I've got info that 1006.4 (searching for it, too) is the last fw without Cinavia for this player.

If this helps for anyone - this player requests for fw upgrade to http://www.samsungotn.net/openapi/tv/F5 ... 3/m_notice.

Btw. (sorry for OT), I'm currently trying to replace Flingo app with custom menu for additional apps/widgets (using custom DNS & Web server).
Has anyone prepared any custom menus in JSON for such BD Players or has collected any additional services links from other players / TVs?
Or anyone got SamyGO running on these F-series BD Players (w/o SmartHUB)?

Hey, thanks for the reply. You could try if it's a firmware problem or not, I had issues with movies Looper and American Hustle, please try playing those and we'll know more which version is safe.

Can you send me link to any "infected" sample movie?
