Which samyGOso Version to take?

Post by fluffi444 »

Hey folks..

I noticed recently that there are three samyGOso Versions around:
samyGOso with 16.911 size
samyGOso with 16.499 size
samyGOso with 24.329 size

Is there a difference or an recommended Version?

Working, but maybe offering a different feature set ?

I got a working SamyGO somewhere around 1 Mb ... I also got one around 50 Mb ...
I would would be profoundly surprised if they feature exact same function set :-)

one was stripped, the second - not stripped? Duno. All of them do the same - attach patch to the exeDPS/TV process. No more features.

Better knows just bugficks.

thx for your answers...

this one with 16.499 Bytes seams to be the newest - And the one 24.329 Bytes to oldest...

Just changed from 24.329 Bytes Version to 16.499... Everything still works as needed...

The 16.499 Versin was provided from PVR Decoder (in /mtd_rwcommon) - I think I should be fine with this version :-)

AFAIK latest one is v1.2.1 (16911 bytes) and can be found here for example (first post attached package):

(16499b is older -> v1.1)

edit: if you want source ;)

rule of thumb, just use latest version. theyre always down compatible, at least till now. newer "apps" might require features of latest samyGOso, e.g. AutoOffTimer does require 1.2.1.

so i assume we should look there for the current version?

and for those who haven't noticed: the latest versions state their revision in rcSGOout (at least for me on C-Series)

Injecting '/mtd_rwcommon/SamyGO/opt/privateer/lib/libUnDRM.so' resident: '1'
whats the plan for handling multiple .so to be injected? for now we execute samyGOso for every single .so with specific parameters, right?
//UE40C6500 @ T-VALDEUC 3011 // rooted manual HotelMode style // PVR to NFS via 18MB on-the-fly sparse XFS // >> decommissioned due to tuner death
//UE46F8090 @ T-FXPDEUC 1136 // rooted by new Widget // root starting with empty usb drive
FYI: you can close your ssh session with SamyGO with

Code: Select all

~.
If you can't fix it using dvct tape, you are not using enough dvct tape.

Good thread, but check last post for latest version (1.2.4). I will reorganize that ;) (edit: done)
