TV's firmware using a Samsung firmware

I have a 32" LCD 1080p 60hz insignia TV that i got at best buy. my understanding is that Samsung and insignia TVs are basically the same so my question is, can i update my insignia TV's firmware using a Samsung firmware so that it runs more fluidly like a Samsung? I know you can update your firmware within your certain brand but since the two brands are so close is it possible to run a Samsung firmware on an insignia TV. if so how?
