Telnet failed because there is no network supportm0nk3hjam wrote: I ran the SamyGo.py patcher on the 2008 firmware (ubuntu 10.04), it went through with only one part failing, the Telnet (I assume its because the b550 has no network support as default?)
Flashed the firmware to the TV only to find I had no "Movie" folder. I had to enable it again through the service menu, is this normal or should it have been there on start up?

Hacked TV needed to show movies. If it's flash is faulty. Might be TV reject to boot new flashed firmware and using older one.
Yes modified u-boot required to installed to your TV. You can flash it from USB via ExLink command line.m0nk3hjam wrote: While connected through ex-link (hyper-terminal) I tryed holding "~" and got no option to "stop autoboot", is it that my b550 requires a modified U-boot? If so is the Modified U-boot part of the compiled SamyGo OE rootfs? If so how is it loaded, manual flash of the bootloader through exlink to the tvs internal memory?
Partially. It's because you are not running SamyGO OE Kernel Image. Your current linux kernel is not allow networking. Needed to compiled from source with network support.m0nk3hjam wrote: I tryed to install the rt2870sta module (i was just playing) but got this over exlink

Am I right to assume that this is because Im not running the SamyGo OE rootfs?
Perfectly normal If there is no modules directory there. For trying modules, you can insmod them at usb dongle as:m0nk3hjam wrote: I tryed entering /mtd_rwarea/modules to make sure the file I copied was there, but it says "cd: cant cd to /mtd_rwarea/modules" but the directory does exist.
insmod dtv/usb/sda1/rt2870sta.ko
Other questions is not in my knowledge completely but aquadran know that process wish/will answer later
