Hi,

Channels are cycling continually, started about 4 days ago. been through Samsung tech, reset unit many times under there advise. final techy asked me to enter the service menu. this is the request, how do you complete a full reset if the remote control will not work? the IR unit is constantly flashing and does not react when I try to put it in to standby. the basic reset has been achieved via a BT keyboard (with some fun and games).

Your remote may have shortcircuted. Some of the Samsung remotes are simply poor quality. The "mousepad" foils short out on some models.
Try remove the batteries from the remote, and see if TV behaves differently using only the controls on TV.

are you aware if its possible to access the service menu without using the remote?

You might try using an IR-blaster .. ?!
